The factory

Kayou Vehicle has built semi-trailers since 2016. Six hundred people across a 600,000 m² site produce around 8,000 trailers a year — until now, all of them for hauliers inside China. Export is the next step, and this page is straight with you about where that leaves us.

We are a younger factory than some of the names you will have come across, and we would rather be plain about that than claim a history we do not have. What we do have is a plant built recently enough to be laid out properly — cutting, forming, welding, shot-blasting, painting and assembly in sequence rather than bolted together over decades — and the output that comes with it.

Eight thousand trailers a year have gone to Chinese operators, and that is a harder school than it sounds. China’s domestic haulage market is the most competitive in the world, its operators overload as a matter of routine, and a large share of the work happens on unsealed roads and mine tracks. A trailer that survives that is not a trailer designed for gentle European motorways.

What we do not have is an export track record. We have not shipped abroad yet, and you will not find invented case studies or borrowed certificates on this site. What we offer instead is the ability to check us directly: commission your own inspection at our plant, order a single unit before committing to a fleet, come and walk the line, and pay the balance only against photographs of your own trailer loaded. For a buyer willing to work with a new exporter, that also means something rarer — you deal with the factory’s attention rather than its order backlog.

What is on site

Cutting and forming

CNC plasma and flame cutting, hydraulic press brakes for beam webs and flanges.

Welding

Submerged-arc welding for main beams, CO₂ shielded welding for assemblies.

Surface treatment

Shot blasting to Sa 2.5 before primer, then two-pack polyurethane topcoat.

Assembly and test

Axle alignment, brake and air-line testing, tipping and hydraulic function checks.

Where we are today

Our trailers work in construction, mining, fuel distribution and general haulage — so far entirely within China. We are at the start of our export business, which means we cannot point you at a customer in your country, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can do is put the trailer itself in front of an inspector you choose, before you pay for it.
